Why did I become a health coach?
While always interested in food, cooking, and fitness, it wasn’t until 2012 that my focus on nutrition and lifestyle became serious. At that time, my primary physician would not take my symptoms seriously—symptoms I now know are related to Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, hormone imbalances, and SIBO—and instead of digging deeper, that physician prescribed me anti-depressants. I did not need anti-depressants. I needed answers.
Eventually, I found my way to a naturopath, someone who was willing to listen, investigate, and be proactive. Together my naturopath and I worked to resolve my health issues—sometimes utilizing alternative therapies, sometimes mainstream therapies. Because of the support I received, the research I undertook, the diet and lifestyle changes I implemented, and the persistence I continue to cultivate, today I feel more healthy and empowered than ever. Now, my goal is to help empower others as they strive and succeed in reclaiming their health.
