Webinar:

Diet Decisions: What Should I Eat To Be Healthy?

No two people are alike. We all have different genes, different microbiota, we live in different environments and have different tastes and ideologies, yet we are always looking for the "right" way to eat. In this podcast hosted by the Foodbank of Santa barbara Country, nutrition advocate Vibeke Weiland and I take you through various diets--from carnivore & keto to paleo, from Mediterranean to vegetarian to vegan--and discuss the pros and cons of each and how to figure out which style of eating is best for you.

Recording of live presentation:

The Power of Crucifers for Detox, DNA Repair and More

Cruciferous veggies--like broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts and cabbage--all come from the mustard family and contain a powerful compound called sulforaphane. Learn which veggies and leafy greens are cruciferous, how to add more to your diet, & why they help with everything from disease prevention to detox to DNA repair. This presentation also includes powerful tips and tricks for prepping and consuming your crucifers in a way that maximizes their effect!

Webinar:

Intermittent Fasting: How to do it, who should do it, and who shouldn't (at least not yet).

Intermittent Fasting seems to be all the rage, but is it for everyone? Check out this webinar presented by myself and nutrition advocate Vibeke Weiland as we discuss the various ways to fast, the physiological benefits of fasting, and who is and isn't a good candidate for fasting.

Below are links to integrative health experts I follow and trust.

Chris Kresser- Integrative Medicine Practitioner

www.chriskresser.com

Chris Kresser, M.S., L.Ac, has become the go-to resource for other functional medicine practitioners because of his evidence-based approach to healing and his willingness to debunk alternative medical myths based on in-depth analysis of data and research methodology. Specializing in the fields of ancestral health and Paleo nutrition, Chris’ website has become one of the top 25 natural health sites in the world.

I recommend both Chris’s website/blog and podcast, Revolution Health Radio, for those who want help deciphering fact from fiction in the alternative medicine space.

Amy Myers, MD – Specialist in Autoimmune Disorders and Thyroid

www.amymyersmd.com

Amy Myers is a western medical doctor turned functional medicine doctor. Dr. Myers has helped thousands of people with autoimmune disease reduce or eliminate their symptoms using diet and lifestyle protocols. She has written a very comprehensive book about her healing protocols, called The Autoimmune Solution, and The Thyroid Connection.

I recommend Dr. Myers’ website and books to those interested in learning about how diet and lifestyle changes can contribute to the remission of autoimmune disease symptoms, as well as for those with thyroid conditions such as Hashimoto’s or Grave’s disease. She also sells high quality supplements online, which I consider good choices from a safe online source.
